IPPs Capacity Charges: Rs 2100 Billions (2.1 Tr)($7.24 billion), which is equal to Defence Budget 2.12 Tr (7.32 billion $). How country could survive with such a scenario?
Circular debt in the power sector: Rs 5.42 trillion (5420 Billion) = $18.07 billion
It appears from the above data that we are being taxed heavily to pay IPPs. The Government is begging countries to reschedule 12 bn $ loans, seeking bail out package for 7 bn $. from IMF. (But paying $7.24 billion to IPPs. These loans and debt is not for people but to feed IPPs). When sense will prevail?
Now supreme court has been moved against this injustice.
